Vibro vibration isolation products were utilized in one of the most prestigious music studio in Malta. Vibro acousticians involvement was to offer a turn-key approach aiming at complete project execution. Utilizing the expertise of our partner in Malta, the primary purpose of the music studio was determined (recording music, podcasts or video editing), and various soundproofing methods were thoroughly studied.
Good acoustic isolation depends heavily on proper acoustic treatment. Vibro’s anti-vibration products were carefully chosen for this primary purpose. The floor, dry walls, and ceiling of the prestigious music studio in Malta were created with “floating” structural parts to improve sound insulation and reduce vibration transmission from the music to the adjacent areas. Additionally, this helped to noise insulate the room from outside disturbances.
The vibration mitigation products were selected with strict specifications. Their manufacturing quality, innovative design & vibration absorption abilities, as well as their durability, were critical factors for the selection. The products used for the prestigious music studio in Malta were:
- Vibro EP anti-vibration mounts made of rubber. They have specially designed longitudinal holes that increase the deflection and improve shock absorption while reducing the natural frequency. Utilized for anti-vibration protection of the floor.
- ISOLfon Barrier MLV soundproofing membrane that increases the transmission loss of walls and ceilings (dry construction). Produced in different specific weights, for the best economical choice according to the needs of each project.
- Vibro WB anti-vibration wall brace that prevents horizontal vibration transmission and sound-bridges in walls structures.
- Vibro PI mini suspension of sound insulation gypsum board ceilings. The design of the metal profile with its edges can be easily cut or bent in different lengths to achieve uneven levels of the floating ceiling when required.
- Vibro SH anti-vibration spring hangers for plasterboard ceiling. The steel spring deals with the low-frequency excitation.
At the end of the prestigious music studio in Malta project, the high acoustic result in terms of sound insulation and the mitigation of vibration transmission was confirmed by appropriate sound measurements.
