Different Vibro vibration control products were utilized for their exceptional acoustic performance for the construction of Hooverphonic & Selah Sue Music Studios in Belgium. Both music studios were designed with strict specifications. This was the main reason why Vibro’s anti-vibration products were carefully selected for the construction. The designed areas of Hooverphonic & Selah Sue music studios in Belgium were implemented with “floating” structural elements (floor, walls, ceiling) to increase the sound insulation and minimize the transmission of the vibration from the music to the nearest sound receivers. This also helped with the sound insulation of the space from external noises.
The vibration isolators were selected with strict specifications, for their manufacturing quality, as well as their durability over time, without changing their vibration absorption abilities. The products used for the music studios were:
- Vibro EP antivibration rubber mounts. Made from first-rate elastomeric material mixed with special substances for its further improvement. Utilized for the floating floor construction.
- ISOLfon Barrier MLV soundproofing membrane that increases the transmission loss of walls and ceilings. It is produced from high density elastomeric viscoelastic EPDM.
- Vibro WS antivibration rubber supports for gypsumboard partitions. The semi-cylindrical modulation at their base provides the necessary space for the rubber expansion, increasing the deflection and the vibration insulation.
- Vibro SH steel spring hanger for false ceiling that offers a very low natural frequency.
The result was that the Hooverphonic & Selah Sue Music Studios in Belgium were successfully constructed and both the structure-borne and airborne noise from the music was completely isolated.
