Building Vibration Isolation in Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) was achieved due to implementation of special Vibro products. SIT is an autonomous university in Singapore that offers applied learning with extensive work-study degrees, a microcosm someone could say of the working world with varying dynamics. Vibration absorption in specific areas of the institute was essential for maintaining a stable environment for conducting experiments and research, ensuring precise measurements.

Vibro’s anti-vibration solutions were specifically selected for the building vibration isolation in Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). The concrete floor, drywall, and ceiling were designed and constructed with “floating” structural elements to enhance sound insulation and minimize vibration transfer to and from surrounding spaces. Especially for the concrete floor, precise calculations were performed for the exact amount and spacing of the vibration isolation solutions. This “room in a room” design also contributed to soundproofing each space from external noise sources.

  • Vibro JS Jack-up anti-vibration spring mount for concrete floating floors. Ideal for floating floor in areas dedicated for very sensitive mechanical applications such as laboratories, testing facilities etc.
  • Vibro WS Anti-vibration rubber supports for gypsumboard partitions is installed on floor or ceiling metal profiles (U-runner). They can be fixed on the profiles with bolts and on floor or ceiling with expansion bolts. The inclined flaps of Vibro-WS cover the fixing bolts on the base and prevent possible contact with gypsum board.
  • Vibro SH Spring hangers for vibration isolation that can be used for anti-vibration hanging for sound insulating false ceilings, antivibration suspension of pipes, air-ducts, etc.

Upon completion of the project in Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), the excellent vibration and acoustic performance, particularly in sound insulation and vibration transmission reduction, was validated through accurate sound measurements.
